According to the data table below, travel on all roads and streets in Nebraska in January 2023 fell 2.6 percent, or 39 million miles, compared to the same month a year ago. This was probably due to higher gasoline and diesel prices. January 2023 travel was 6.5 percent, or 100 million miles, less than in December 2022.
It can be seen in Figure 1 below that miles traveled in January 2023 were lower than the miles traveled in January 2022 (last year). January travel was in the center of the five–year range and above the five–year average.
