Nebraska's
Petroleum Consumption
by Sector

In 2019, the state's petroleum consumption was 47,209 thousand barrels (47.2 million barrels), a two–percent increase from 46,360 thousand barrels (46.4 million barrels) in 2018. The transportation sector was responsible for over three–quarters (78.7 percent) of the consumption, with the industrial, residential, commercial, and electric power sectors consuming the remaining 14.6 percent, 4.3 percent, 2.2 percent, and 0.09 percent, respectively.
