For the week of August 28, Nebraska's average gasoline price fell 13 cents per gallon from the previous week to $2.82, which was 16 cents higher than the price at this time last year. Weekly average prices in surveyed cities ranged from $2.73 in Omaha to $2.96 in North Platte. As of August 25, the Midwest gasoline stock level was in the bottom of the normal range with 49.9 million barrels.
Nebraska's average diesel price decreased four cents to $3.28 per gallon. According to the weekly price report, this week's state average was 68 cents higher than the price at this time last year. Weekly averages in the surveyed cities ranged from $3.17 in Norfolk to $3.32 in Kearney. On the supply side, the Midwest distillate fuel inventory level was below the normal range with 21.2 million barrels of diesel fuel as of August 25.
Regular unleaded gasoline is regular unleaded motor gasoline with an 87 to 88 octane. Diesel fuel is fuel used for internal combustion in diesel engines.
