For the week of August 21, Nebraska's average gasoline price fell ten cents per gallon from the previous week to $2.95, which was 30 cents higher than the price at this time last year. Weekly average prices in surveyed cities ranged from $2.84 in Columbus to $3.05 in North Platte. As of August 18, the Midwest gasoline stock level was below the normal range with 48.6 million barrels.
Nebraska's average diesel price decreased three cents to $3.32 per gallon. According to the weekly price report, this week's state average was 72 cents higher than the price at this time last year. Weekly averages in the surveyed cities ranged from $3.25 in Norfolk to $3.35 in Kearney. On the supply side, the Midwest distillate fuel inventory level was below the normal range with 21.4 million barrels of diesel fuel as of August 18.
Regular unleaded gasoline is regular unleaded motor gasoline with an 87 to 88 octane. Diesel fuel is fuel used for internal combustion in diesel engines.
