For the week of August 7, Nebraska's average gasoline price increased six cents per gallon from the previous week to $3.10, which was 72 cents higher than the price at this time last year. Weekly average prices in surveyed cities ranged from $3.06 in Columbus and Omaha to $3.19 in North Platte. As of August 4, the Midwest gasoline stock level had fallen farther below the normal range with 48.8 million barrels.
Nebraska's average diesel price had jumped twelve cents to $3.31 per gallon. According to the weekly price report, this week's state average was nearly a dollar higher than the price at this time last year. Weekly averages in the surveyed cities ranged from $3.24 in Norfolk to $3.35 in Lincoln. On the supply side, the Midwest distillate fuel inventory level had fallen farther below the normal range with 19.9 million barrels of diesel fuel as of August 4.
Regular unleaded gasoline is regular unleaded motor gasoline with an 87 to 88 octane. Diesel fuel is fuel used for internal combustion in diesel engines.
