Nebraska's retail gasoline price was unchanged from last week at $1.93 with metro prices ranging from $1.88 in Columbus to $1.98 in North Platte. The Midwest gasoline stock level was in the upper boundary of the normal range. In a comparison of gas price components between this week and the same week last year, the Energy Information Administration reported that higher crude oil prices account for the entire difference in component prices and more. Crude oil costs are up more than 30 cents while overall costs and profits for refining, distribution, and marketing are more than 8 cents lower than a year ago.
The state average retail diesel price was also unchanged from last week at $2.03 per gallon. Nebraska's metro diesel prices ranged from $1.97 in Columbus to $2.08 in Kearney. The Midwest distillate fuel inventory level continues in the normal range.
