University of Nebraska-Lincoln Receives Wind Research Grant
In July 2009, the University of Nebraska Lincoln received a $380,398 grant for a project to build an Online Nonintrusive Condition Monitoring and Fault Detection system for wind turbines as part of the U.S. Department of Energy’s $12.8 million in Recovery Act funds for wind energy projects. Assistant Professor Wei Qiao of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln’s Electrical Engineering Department will work to address market and deployment challenges including wind turbine research and testing and transmission analysis, planning, and assessments.
