The state's natural gas was supplied by 20 companies whose average 2003 residential rates ranged from Hastings Utilities' $5.32 to the City of Stromsburg's $11.28 per thousand cubic feet. Commercial rates ranged from Hastings Utilities' $4.46 to the City of Falls City's $13.06. Rates for natural gas used by electric utilities ranged from the Metropolitan Utilities District of Omaha's $5.46 to the City of Wahoo's $8.01. Industrial rates ranged from the Fremont Department of Utilities' $5.50 to the City of Stromsburg's $10.09. Kinder Morgan's averages are listed, but are considered somewhat invalid since their averages in 2002 are two to four dollars higher. Peoples Natural Gas Company is listed as Aquila Inc. this year.
