With the rise in gasoline prices, many are seeking ways to reduce fuel use. One option is to replace vehicles currently being used.

One resource is the Union of Concerned Scientists’ Hybrid Center that provides in-depth information on hybrid vehicle technology. The Consumer Center features a buyers’ guide, comparison chart and reviews. In the Tech Center, viewers can look under the hood at the technology that powers the vehicles, keep abreast of new technology and find out which vehicles are full or partial hybrids.

This resource provides a list of generally free or low-cost energy related educational materials designed for students and teachers. The publication is provided by the National Energy Information Center, a service of the Energy Information Administration.

The Department of Energy Updates Consumer Web Site
The U.S. Department of Energy's Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy has launched an updated consumer web site that provides easy access to the latest information about using and saving energy at home and in your workplace.

The newly updated site features home energy efficiency, fuel-efficient vehicles and the best options for using solar energy and other renewable energy sources at home. It also highlights energy efficiency and renewable energy options for a wide variety of uses, from small businesses to farms and ranches to industrial sites. Throughout the site, the "Learn More" column on the right-hand side provides updated links to useful resources and a link to a reading list of relevant material.
