Who is Nebraska Clean Cities Coalition?
Nebraska Clean Cities Coalition (NeC3) is dedicated to improving the economic and environmental quality of life in Nebraska, and the United States, by promoting fuel diversity and vehicle upgrades in the transportation sector. NeC3 stakeholders include federal/state agencies, utilities, municipalities, auto and fuel retailers, manufacturers and producers, fleet operators, city/county/state officials, academic institutions, industry associations, and more.

What does Nebraska Clean Cities Coalition do?
NeC3 participates in the Clean Cities program sponsored by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE). Established under the Energy Policy Act of 1992, the DOE Clean Cities program is dedicated to reducing petroleum consumption in the nation's transportation sector through local and regional public-private partnerships. Over the last two decades, DOE has designated 90 coalitions nationwide, representing more than 8,500 stakeholders and 80% of the population. Since 1993, Clean Cities coalitions have been responsible for displacing nearly 3 billion gallons of petroleum. DOE Clean Cities has set a goal of displacing 2.5 billion gallons of petroleum annually by 2020.

NeC3 is committed to building public-private partnerships that develop sustainable, market-based alternative fuels solutions for business, government and consumers in Nebraska and the region. NeC3 programs are designed to empower our stakeholders with the tools and resources necessary to develop and implement successful fuel diversification and vehicle upgrade strategies based on specific operational needs and local market conditions.

Why become a Nebraska Clean Cities Coalition Stakeholder?
NeC3 provides access to a network of local, regional and national resources and tools to assist in the outreach, planning and investment in petroleum reduction strategies, technologies and trainings. NeC3 and DOE provide workshops, webinars, special events and professional trainings throughout the year.

NeC3 stakeholders are building partnerships with neighboring Clean Cities coalitions to expand alternative fuels fleets and infrastructure across the state and region. In 2011, NeC3 stakeholders are celebrating the fruits of a partnership with Kansas City Regional Clean Cities that will open access to compressed natural gas vehicles and fuel in Omaha and Lincoln.

Clean Cities coalitions are eligible for specific funding opportunities from DOE and other sources.

This site has been created to facilitate the exchange of information and materials between the individuals interested in forming our statewide coalition. As our coalition evolves, this page will be used to house the materials and guidelines developed and help keep us all on the same page.
